They can bring really cool effects, mood, and interest to shots but I think I have found myself shooting and thinking more about post process than about the shot I am taking at the time and making it a really good shot. I think this might be an issue, and I think I need to change that theory of shooting. I am not sure I am lazy, or I think it might be just easier to concentrate less on current shot specifics, dynamics and production details. But I do think it is making my final product suffer. As an example this shot below, it is not bad, I hate the arm and left hand position. I wonder if I was even thinking about that arm position when I was taking the shot, or was I think about how this shot would look in post with filters applied? Or was I not even caring about the shoot enough to see the issues. Pose, backdrop, floor ac vent, dark pillow on a light couch etc.. It is clear to me to advance my photography it will require me to really start to pay attention to the details and not get or continue […]

Hey followers can you confirm something for me that I think I have correct but probably do not… In the example notifications below: Both were shared "directly" with me.. the top one was "public" and the second was "limited". The limited one is simple to understand as it seems it was only shared with me – Why I have a supposed 6th grader sharing to me direct and limited is beyond me, somewhat strange and in some ways I think a way to block those under specific ages might actually be something to think about as depending on the truth of that share – I am not sure many 6th graders should be on social networks at all without parental supervision or at least guidance. In the first share am i correct in saying that the only way to share to public but also to share direct is to check the notifications box to alert those in your public circle that you posted.? I have seen a ton of direct share, notified posts this past week… as in a major surge in them… So either something changed, or this is the new G+ way to spam people, or simply people do […]

I agree +Catherine Hall and crew did a great job on this model release application… It is the nicest one I have used. Unlike +Sam Breach I have not yet used it for a real shoot yet… But I have played with it and set it up…. It gives a really nice output to the client and the photographer…. Also – I am making two circles – One for actual Active Glamour & Model Photographers and one for people that just like seeing the type of photos posted below…. PLEASE CLAIM A CIRCLE POSITION BELOW …ie: leave me a comment and say where you might want to go.. the Active Glamour Circle will be small and will bring together active glamour and model photographers to help share ideas etc.. If, like me, you're still having LR4 speed issues – try this out. I can't say it completely resolved the issues I was having, but overall the app does seem a bit snappier! NB: on a Mac, you'll need to right-click the Lightroom 4.app file and show package contents in order to start trashing things from within the "plugins" folder.
