In album I do not normally pimp out products I sell in my other jobs – but this one is worth a look if you are in the market for a heavy duty cover for the back of your pickup.. I use everything I sell – the eat your own dog food theory of sales… This is the DiamondBack Truck Cover… the lower section with boxes is from Truckvault (Weatherproof storage) – The top cover comes in several configurations now and they can all be seen here: http://www.diamondbackcovers.com/ Some models are great for tools and storage and others you can carry up to two ATV's on top of your truck vs. hauling around a trailer. They will even coat them in LineX if you want… Great company – really helpful staff and a great product.. I am super picky what I use and sell and these guys do it right .. which is very rare these days…. If you happen to want more info – let me know … I can work a G+ discount if people are interested….. I wanted to drop the info out here in case people are looking for truck based storage solutions…. View this post […]

Online Storage vs. new computers
So we photographers face a huge issue with online storage… that of internet bandwidth. When I recently rebuilt my computer that dooms me with my online backup supplier as when you rebuild your system it needs to re-upload all the data associated with that machine or items attached to it. This re-upload is usually massive and with high bandwidth connections these days can destroy your monthly limit as shown below…. Just something for everyone to keep in mind as we all move more items offsite… I know this is not a new topic – but sadly many of us our trying to do the right thing only to be limited by our ISP's. This does not even take into consideration my other normal uses for internet – and this use will abate after the initial upload… but it is something to very much worry about in your backup strategy… View this post on Google+

+Gmail Users? Have you see a huge surge in spam lately? I have been using gmail for years and really felt Google had very much licked my spam issues but in the last several weeks I have been seeing a ton of strange spam emails… So I clicked on all of them and gave them my CC info and they seem to still be coming….. No I did not – but here is an example of what I have been seeing.. have you seen this also? I spam all of them but they are up to 2-3 a day it seems….which is a massive increase when it was usually 1 or none for days at a time… I really hope the integration of so many services is not the root cause of some of this… View this post on Google+

How about helping out +Dave Rich and giving him some starter kit ideas for strobes … Think lower budget starter set that will last many years….. I said Alien Bees because they have given me a ton of great service but I am sure there are other ideas.. also how about modifiers for Family and Business Portrait work… list them up on his thread here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/115065563322811017070/posts/9rptkr9Vzpc Reshared post from +Dave Rich #Photography #Equipment #Lighting With tax time coming, and my proclivity for giving Uncle Sam interest free loans throughout the year, I would love some advice from the Photography Community here. Over the course of this year, I plan to dedicate a lot more time to learning and advancing my skill, as well as taking some photography jobs that have been previously offered to me, however, I am somewhat lacking in the equipment department, and that's where you, my dear fellow photographers, come in. I have a camera, and I know enough about them and the assorted lenses to make informed decisions that fit with my style of photography (when it concerns portrait style subjects), but lighting still confounds me. I've read the wonderful book written by +Scott Kelby (Light […]
