#BTLcritique #glamour Critique for a Critique Ok – so G+ has been driving me to try to process at least one image a day.. I have to be honest and say I have not done that in some time.. I edit and shoot when I can..and I have been happy with that in the past.. it seems like I am noo longer happy with that or G+ is slowly taking over the motivation zone in my brain to actually apply myself more to photography. So here is the deal… take a moment to drop a critique here on this image and post a link for a shot you want me to critique of yours….. The community here is very strong with talented people and I would love to see more sharing and asking for critiques on images. Fear not – put your work out there and share it, let it all hang out and ask for those critiques…. Way back in 2002' I took this shot and not till today did I see that it captured a cool light pillar. Honestly I did not even know about these till recently – Learn something new everyday….. A light pillar is a visual phenomenon created by the reflection of light from ice crystals with near horizontal parallel planar surfaces. The light can come from the Sun (usually at or low to the horizon) in which case the phenomenon is called a sun pillar or solar pillar. It can also come from the Moon or from terrestrial sources such as streetlights This would be the sunset I would like to see when I move to some planet other than earth…. you can +1 yourself (+Karen Hutton told me that was naughty thou) or you can reply to your own posts… (That makes me feel well, worse…) So really the only thing left to do is pop over to the Google Main Search page and customize it with your own photo…. Then each time you hit it you think you are famous… especially when you totally forgot you did it…. I am curious where the Picasa photos that are on the Public list come from – if they are selected on some specific basis or by staffers, or ?. Maybe +Brian Rose can let us all know.. Would it not be cool to have a section where we could submit images to be used for Wallpapers to the world. I would happily give up a pile of images to be served up to possibly millions daily… So many facets of google services could benefit from killer photos… and many of us photographers could benefit from the possible massive exposure…. Circle Cleanup Commencing…… So having been here for quite some time now 3 months or so I beleive… I have seen many come and go and many stay very active…. In that time I have added tons of followers and in turn followed way to many in return to the point I have maxed out my circle limit… So to make room for more active followers it is time to purge those that came and left to be replaced with those that are here and active and interesting to follow. So for those that track there followers and I might show to have removed you, it probably means one of two things… 1) you have not posted in over a month… or 2) you are not sharing your posts and might not quite understand how this all works best here…feel free to chime in and let me know it was a terrible mistake…..but right now i cannot even move people to a different circle if I wanted too…. Another side of what I do…. Many here lately have been reposting what they do and bio's based on all their new followers…. So I will follow suit but rather than know more about me, I wanted to post a story from a project myself and two friends started about 10 years ago… I have been a reserve deputy for about 18 years (the volunteer kind), I started it back then to give back to my community, my partners in this project are full time officers. Ten years ago we decided to put our experiences on paper and started the task of writing a book we then self published. The topics are still relevant to this day as sadly crime continues to increase in most cases and many still fail to use much common sense. I wanted to post one of our stories that received a ton of attention in the press from years ago as a sample of what we offer in the book and also to show that the cops you might either hate or love do care about what you think and are there to protect your safety.
