Last look at the 'Love Boat' What does the death of an icon look like? Our latest Cruise Ship Tour, in the carousel above, offers a last look at one of the most famous cruise ships of the modern era, the Pacific Princess, which is being torn apart at a scrapyard in Turkey. Recognizable to millions of Americans as the "Love Boat" of 1970s television, the one-time Princess Cruises vessel made its final voyage in August to the scrapyard after failing to sell to a new owner. As you can see in the photo tour, by veteran cruise writer and ship photographer Peter Knego, the 42-year-old vessel is sandwiched between several other former cruise ships that are being dismantled in Turkey. In a trip down memory lane, Knego combines images taken during a recent trip to the scrapyard with historical exterior and interior shots taken over the past four decades. As of 11am eastern time this morning we are monitoring the largest distributed brute force attack on WordPress installations that we’ve seen to date. The real-time attack map on www.wordfence.com became so busy that we’ve had to throttle the amount of traffic we show down to 4% of actual traffic. Starting at 11am EST this morning we saw a roughly 30 times increase in the volume of brute force attacks across WordPress websites running the WordPress.org software. The attack ramped up so quickly that we initially questioned the data we were seeing and immediately deployed code to verify that the reports we were receiving were accurate and not an attack on our own systems. Within a few seconds it became clear that the attack was in fact real and being reported from across the universe of WordPress websites. Some definitions if you’re not in the InfoSec field: A brute force attack is when an attacker tries many times to guess your username password combination by repeatedly sending login attempts. A distributed brute force attack is when an attacker uses a large number of machines spread around the internet to do this in order to circumvent any blocking mechanisms you have […]

Tripods lighter and smaller or bigger and more expensive? I think I might really be looking at lighter and smaller and this is one candidate? Anyone used the MeFoto? I really like the idea of it being convertible to the monopod that is just a great design inclusion others have not done.. http://www.mefoto.com/products/roadtrip.aspx +MeFOTO  This post has been reshared 2 times on Google+ View this post on Google+

Some wanted to know what before and after look like when I edit a shot.. below is a pretty decent example of post process editing I normally do to an image to make it more "interesting" in my minds eye… Usually 2-3 layers in photoshop and at least a filter or two. But normally I do not stick to stock settings in those filters and tweak them to each image. This does two things, 1) Hopefully makes my images different than others and 2) hopefully makes my images different than others…
