Quick image search revealed the back story: (3/30/15): Re the TF-9J "hanging over the side to dry out," it was BuNo 142979, from Chase Field, TX-based VT-25 "Cougars," which missed all arresting wires when trying to recover aboard Lexington, 24 May 1966. Pilot could be rescued, unhurt, fortunately.

  25. Todd Green 23 Nov 2015 Reply

+RY Life I explained in an earlier comment, but if you prefer, that's how they store the jets on US aircraft carriers to make more room.

  26. RY Life 23 Nov 2015 Reply

    All right

  27. Todd Green 23 Nov 2015 Reply

Or, they dip the end of the jet into the water to get a more accurate speed measurement than they would from the ships usual water speed indicators.

Toss away toy's like the 7 BILLION the US left behind for ISIS to get their hands on all at the behest of the current US Muslim Administration of America under Obama.

  35. +The m n' n Vlogs It's not. The US literally dumped excess aircraft off the edge of aircraft carriers after withdrawing from Vietnam.
