+Frederick Van Johnson amazing the power of the buns……

PS: you cost me 450.00 bucks… 🙂 But I will still respect you in the morning….. and I should have just tossed the lens off a cliff and used the insurance to get a new one….

+Frederick Van Johnson ok thats a good point… but I think I rather have a sharp lens and amp up the Gaussian blur… Because there is nothing better than blur…….

I rarely use 500px. Had to reset my password which took about an hour. When I came back, the photo had dropped to 86.3. I don't like the system they have there. Seems most people just vote negative to skew the ratings. Since negative votes have more power there, it's easier to down vote anyone above you than to get positive votes for yourself. That's something I won't participate in myself, but I am happy to throw an up vote your way. You deserve it.

I'd +1 that! Gorgeous shot +Brent Burzycki! You absolutely deserve all of the attention that you are getting, and there is no shame in self-promotion. I thank you for all of your positive feedback, and helpful interactions with all of us. Keep up the amazing work.

+Jerry Kiesewetter +Todd Green +Art Silva thanks all… Todd I do agree that a dislike can really shove down a rating…..as proven today 86.5 Rating 2,554 Views 203 Votes – Some interesting math when you cannot find out how many dislikes you might actually have…. I would actually like that info….

Its been discussed a lot….. Dislike does seem to take a huge portion of a percentage….and i would love to know who or why an image was disliked….or make people write a reason for disliking…. All are items that are a pain to implement for political issues or other reasons thou…so i understand why they do not do it…

As an amateur looking to did deeper into the industry, 500px advertises an interesting option. Their premium subscription offers ability for prints to be sold? How does that work? Would be interested in hearing a rundown of the process, and an overview of the #s (i.e. images sold, $ generated for creator, $ generated for 500px)…

Typo…1st line should have said "…looking to dig deeper" (just got off my motorcycle, and fingers are still warming up…)

  16. Brent Burzycki 26 Nov 2011 Reply

+Eric Jones i think they just killed their sales side and will be replacing it with an internal system….

  17. Jerry Kiesewetter 26 Nov 2011 Reply

+Eric Jones I don't think prints are an option anymore. 500px had a very public tiff with their print provider this summer. Has me considering Zenfolio instead.

Brent beat me to it 😉

  19. Brent Burzycki 26 Nov 2011 Reply

I would love to know the answer thou…because i will drop smugmug if its a simple easy to use system

Thanks for the info on 500px killing the sales option. May follow your lead and look at Zenfolio as well.
