  1. it might be because the state of Calif is making the California's pay the tax on all on-line purchases even when the on-line store does not charge

+Hubert (Hub) Figuière Yeh – we also had amazon kill all Ca based accts… I did not make much but it helped pay for tiny things on some months …..

And this is supposed to help the economy….

Yeah. Really dumb move by our CA lawmakers. All it did was hurt small businesses that were selling from here through Amazon, B&H, etc.

+Dave Bell it is too bad they do not think about the consequences before making rules that clearly backfired in their face….

Amazon basically said screw you CA – and it saved them money – and we all lost and I have to say i cannot blame Amazon for doing it.. I would have also….

It a mess – all this because I want to live in CA and have a business.. my site is hosted outside of CA and all orders are fullfilled outside of CA, CA does not have fullfillment centers because of crazy rules…

But still no one pays out of state sales tax.. and why should Amazon if they are not a business in CA…thus kill the CA affiliates and problem solved…and we save money and nothing gets paid to CA…. A+ to the person who make that law….must feel a tad bit dumb now…

  6. almost all states have a law saying you must pay sales tax on online orders – People dont so CA made the retailer collect it, most states are or will follow suit,

Way till the feds decide that they want there % on all online oderes as well its only a matter of time

+Andrew Namiki Roberts cannot wait… I would not be so bitter if I knew that Tax money would actually not be squandered…. I have no issues with paying taxes – I have an issue with the people who cannot spend it correctally or simply should get a better savings acct…
