Just wanted to confirm that the rumors are true — I’m excited to be running Google’s Photos and Streams products! It’s important to me that these changes are properly understood to be positive improvements to both our products and how they reach users.
I loved it how it was.
Nothing is changing from a user perspective at this point. It's mostly internal management changes that are happening and how the named. Nothing else is changing.

I honestly think some things need to change here.. Or it will truly be dead eventually..
Things will always be improving or evolving on Google+ as they always have. It won't go away though.
