Well so far the Xbox One is less than overwhelming.. I am clearly missing something in what was marketed as integrated TV controls…. Yes it can let me watch TV on my ATT Uverse box, but there are no real controls for anything on the box. This is disturbing that either I am an total idiot, or there is no way to actually get to recorded DVR items?

    …underwhelming?

    +Jim Warthman yep – underwhelming…

I bought it to try to get rid of a Google TV I was using as a Blue Ray – Clearly I did not do my homework as the TV controls are severely limited at this point… not sure how I or if I can even control the DVR with it.. How it can be the one box in the living room without DVR control for a very common TV box is sort of well very disappointing..

And it really need to come with a dedicated TV style remote if it is going to fill this type of bill..

+Brent Burzycki, that's a bummer! So maybe you can try Apple TV? 😉

Yes. There is no DVR control yet. They've only ever marketed Watch Live TV. I knew this, but I can imagine most people do not. It won't get as much use as it would if it did magically figure out how to navigate every cable box recordings UI. One day… Let's hope it learns how to do more.

Read a recent post by +Pete Smith, he had great success with his. I hate Microsoft at this point and bought a PS4 instead. I don't need another media box other than a game console. It's why I spent over a grand on a Marantz system.

+Rudy Wilkinson Jr Sadly my extinct Google TV does all this with no issues…. I had a hope this box would do more than a technology that is 3 years old and not updated for about that long… So it's a bit disappointing….. The other fact being most buying this or anything like it would be dvr users also… Any market research would show that…

I did have success but I knew in advance there were no DVR controls. It works great for tuning channels by voice and stuff. And I like the controls for streaming services.

+Brent Burzycki, I have controls to my cable box such as saying "watch Espn" , or "last channel", "Volume up or down", etc… The only things I am missing is the dvr options like you mentioned. When I go to the dvr, it's like I lose all Xbox functions. All in all, I am happy with it. I love the way it works. I hope they do send a patch at some point to integrate the cable box even more. I am sure there are many similar complaints out there.
