    What is this?

  2. A swept wing stealth craft?

  3. Kamal Tailor 14 Oct 2016 Reply

That's a really strange wing design, Does anyone know what plane it actualyl is or if it is a CG plane?

  4. Ike Rouse 14 Oct 2016 Reply

This plane was beat out by the YF-22. This is a YF-23 stealth jet! Some of the frame could be used for the next generation ( Gen 6) air technology

  5. Ike Rouse 14 Oct 2016 Reply

I still say that it's a bad ass prototype

  7. Kamal Tailor 14 Oct 2016 Reply

looks more like a russian or chinese prototype or even a CG model

  8. Ike Rouse 14 Oct 2016 Reply

Those china men do like copying everything we do so it could be some new stealth prototype of theirs

  9. Kamal Tailor 14 Oct 2016 Reply

Russians have been building great planes for a while.

  10. That is not a if-23 at all it's got a body of f-15. The yo-23 was so much more stealthy

+Ike Rouse the J-20 is a blatant copy of the Russian MiG-1.44, nose section of the F-35 and I'm pretty sure avionics and weapon bays straight from the F-22.

    Very hot Lookout USA Russia

  15. Kamal Tailor 15 Oct 2016 Reply

It could be a test variant where the wings of the f35 is retractable to make it a forward sweeping wing from it's regular diamond shaped wing.

  16. F-35 is a single engine airframe. It has to be either CGI because I have seen Chinese renderings for J-20 with a wing configuration like this. Granted it's not a J-20 airframe either

Wait till you see what America has. Contrary to Trumps opinion, we don't tell or show off secrets until we've actually used them.

    What is it called

  24. CGI

  25. Shadow Rider 17 Oct 2016 Reply

    +Christopher Phirman
    No CGI!

    Prototype.
    See vertical stabilizers?
This is the second variation of the now common "V-tail" design while the reverse angle of the wings allows for greater lift, and therefore……..tighter turns.

But……the Air Force was more attuned and impressed with F-22's vectored thrust.

  26. then if it isnt CGI then what is it, not J-20 thats for sure

  27. Shadow Rider 17 Oct 2016 Reply

    +Christopher Phirman Its a prototype.

    Perhaps an F-23?

  28. are you saying this is a YF-23?

  29. all things consided, this looks nothing like YF-23 except for the V-tail

  30. Shadow Rider 17 Oct 2016 Reply

+Christopher Phirman Perhaps as a concept (meaning a thought) before the finalization.

You know…..in a manner so as to test it's performance
    in flight.

Maybe NOT an F-23, but a concept on another???

  31. you could be right, but all bets are to eliminate the tail completely in future designs

  32. Shadow Rider 17 Oct 2016 Reply

+Christopher Phirman This was actually the tail design originally chosen for the F-35, but after Lockheed Martin began wind tests, they realized to accommodate all the attributes for the F-35, they'd have to make its main wings to resemble a Delta-Wing design, which didn't appeal aesthetically to AF Brass, so they settled on its current rear stabilizer design.
