In 2014, May new moon falls on May 28
From EarthSky: Few, if any, people around the world can expect to see the moon before sunrise or after sunset on May 28, 2014. It is the day of the new moon, the day on which the moon crosses from the morning to the evening sky, and the sun and moon reside on the same side of Earth in space. Today, the moon pretty much rises with the sun at sunrise, crosses the sky with the sun during the daytime and sets with the sun at sunset. Read more:
