It is the day of the new moon, the day on which the moon crosses from the morning to the evening sky, and the sun and moon reside on the same side of Earth in space. Today, the moon pretty much rises with the sun at sunrise, crosses the sky with the sun during the daytime and sets with the sun at sunset.
