F15/16 pure power, course its a HUGE shame about the F22 Raptor $365m each and a pile of crap but at least the United States can afford it eh ?
Wonder whose going to pay for this financial disaster, knowing the US defence industry absolutely the tax payer.
Still for every white elephant built one things for sure, Americans won't be short of bigger, better, machines piloted or not to kill folks.
The F-22 was a good machine, just designed for a threat that no longer exists. I know. I was involved in the operational analysis in the early stages. The F-34 is even worse. We should scrap the program and build more F-16s. And keep the A-10. And stop the C-17 line and build more C-130s.
At last common sense from Bob how could any defence administration condone a single fighter costing $365m in the F22 and her sister ships F34/35 its absolute madness, MAD I tells ya !!!!!
On a more serious note selling these fighters to allies is criminal and given in a Marius mentality, a resource (pilot) could well end up dead because of it, the whole defence administration need to warn of the problems of these jets and country's who bought them allowed to correct them or return them for the same in F16's which fair enough couldn't land on a carrier but nice to look at.
And me a guy who thinks he is up on aviation news never knew there was this much controversy… Talking to the pilots of them… They seem to like the new planes… But I sense overall many feel the people part of flying is being forced out of the cockpit…
Going by the technology race and drone especially one day we'll be watching battles carried out live on TV with the combatants unmanned machines shooting hell out of each other !!!
Well when war hits the cable channel… I quit….. That said if we were actually at war against a true enemy i would want to know what was going on… There are so many books about how military conflicts become the biggest thing on tv.. In some cases without the players even knowing they are being broadcast because they time shift the content to keep it harder for the enemy to know what is going on… Sell the content to the highest bidder and continue to fuel the building of more equipment to blow up for the viewers….
I know I would have an issue with all of this unless it was only machine against machine…. Well that and all the issues related to humanity and everything else…
Although Brent, there was a train of thought that had it not been for WWI/WW11 Hollywood would still be making cowboy films so its true history and fantasy are intrinsically linked thru its media.
Which is frightening based on the caliber of movies and shows out right now….
Ain't that the truth…!
