Part of me wants to say they literally do not know what one aspect of their business does from another… And the customer support in some cases shows this.. Especially when related to long time customers that cannot get a simple new plan without massive hassle..
Then the smarter part of me knows that they know exactly what is going on and it is not about the customer..
