I believe the "real" kamikaze aircraft went up with a load of HE with the intent of suiciding on a ship. Exploding on the topside could kill a lot of crew and take out some of the ship's armament; with luck, the plane might go through the deck and explode in the hold. And it would take pretty good luck to cause a hole at the waterline where the ship would sink.
Or couldn't swim … but also partially probably the Japanese loyalty was that intense; they'd rather die than be taken prisoner … but I agree, the image looks a bit too perfect. May have been redone or enhanced, or it could be real. Who knows?
+Kezanza the Great Doesn't the right (Bent upward) wing make sense though? Wouldn't the wing have bent slightly upwards when hitting the water first at that angle?
