They wore those suits on "Star Trek" – like in the episode where Kirk is trapped in inter-dimensional space and Spock must calculate the exact second of dimensional interphase so they can both get the ship clear of the enclosing energy web the Tholians were building and pull Kirk along with with them in a sort of inter-dimensional suction kind of thing.
Pilot is wearing a mockup of a proposed high altitude pressure suit designed at DFS in 1943 and produced in approximately May of 1944. The aircraft he is sitting in is the 2nd or 3rd pre-production prototype Horten IX, aka Gotha 229 V2 or V3 ("V" here means "Versuchs" ie: prototype) Ao 2 or Ao 3. As far as I know, the photo was taken in late 1944, and captured approx. May, 1945.
That looks like something out of a low budget sci fi movie.
It looks more menacing than the present helmet jet pilots have nowadays
Some sort of Deep space bomber
Brilliant
Gran bella foto grazie

Agree it looks to me like the German wing only bomber during end of wwii… What would the US have done without their brilliant engineers…
