I know this aircraft really good, the first owner thought he could do a loop bellow 5,000ft with the flaps set at the take off setting on a really hot day, this didn't work out well. He drug the tail for around 500ft on the ground, he put the throttle in to afterburner and powered it back in to the air and then landed, the ground support guy's I've talked to said he sat in the airplane for about 45mins collecting his thoughts before he climbed out. I can say after working on it for over 12 years that the MiG-17 (J-5 in this case) is a very robustly built aircraft.
