#glamour
I am trying to redo my entire portfolio. I fear it's a major undertaking…..
Trying to shoot new when I can and re-edit some older shoots with new techniques.
Hopefully in the end it will leave me with a much more professional looking body of work.
Please feel free to +1 and Share it out……it is always very appreciated.

Awesome! Please share this with the +Model Photographers project as well.
nice
+Scott Detweiler How would i share it with that page? Man, Pages are really lacking for interaction, unless I am missing something..
Nice
Hard not to like +Brent Burzycki
Body of work is so suitable.
Great stuff. +Brent Burzycki, naive question from an outsider: I understand that both the model and photographer contribute to the art of this. Is this a 50-50 thing? Or is it usually one party of the two having the largest impact? (Which?)
+Dimitris Andreou I would be nothing without great models… I think also the model and photographer need to play off of eachother.. if the model is having a bad day its my job to motivate her to have a better day and in turn a good shoot… I have had models pull me out of a messed up shoot by giving more than normal and making the shoot that much more fun..
So its 50-50 and both are very important pieces to the final product.
That is a great question……
nice figar
Thanks! So I guess when I +1 your shoots, what I really mean is +0.5 🙂 (I have more questions, but I wont overflow you with them just now)
very nice capture in b&w 😉
well done
If I can answer the questions I am happy too….. And yes if the models were here on g+ I would deposit half credit to them also…
I can relate to wanting to reprocess. The software and my skill with it have both improved a lot, especially over the last few years. It seems that a lot of photographers look back at their older work and cringe a bit. I suppose that's the price of getting better over time! Anyway, it's good to review things. Gives a reminder of where you were, and where you wanted to go, and puts things in perspective.
Oh, I hope you didn't interpret my mediocre joke in a bad way, I regard your work as top notch, to be clear. But we only get to see the end result, and I'm so curious about stuff like 'who dresses the model?', 'does the model have a say in what her pose/expression should be?', and who comes up with all these interesting backgrounds anyway?! If someone described all these responsibilities to me, I would probably think that it's a movie director being discussed. 🙂 (There – I'll try to keep quiet now 🙂 )
No bad interpretation taken…. I will try to answer those questions when back on a real co punter tomorrow…
+Dimitris Andreou just my 2 cents, but your questions seem right on topic, and many of us here are interested in the process of photographers, especially when they do great work like +Brent Burzycki here. Please don't keep quiet when your questions are completely relevant and interesting! That's what comments are for!
Agree….it's why I enjoy g+ … The interaction and no fear of asking questions…
+Brent Burzycki, nice image. I am in the same re-evaluation portfolio remake process. It is a challenge, but kind of fun.
Beautiful image. Great light and tones. Good of you to redo you're portfolio. I need to do the same.
+Chuck Uebele thanks.. I think at some point we all do… but none of us really want too…
+Serge Yurovsky Thanks and yes it can be fun … and aggravating at the same time….mainly because you cannot easily re-shoot old stuff…

"I'm so curious about stuff like 'who dresses the model?' "
In most cases the outfits are picked by the photographer and model.. in my case I have done shoots where the model picks the outfit and where she brings a ton of clothing and we pick it together… I tend to see what she is comfortable in and we go from there….
"does the model have a say in what her pose/expression should be?"
She does and does not depending on the project… and her experience…. In many cases a good model can be told before the shoot what look the shoot is going for and they can just pull it off – less experienced models take a bit more work and a bit more instruction…
"and who comes up with all these interesting backgrounds anyway?"
In this case of this shot it was me… and in most of my shoots I am picking the locations… the best part is if you look at my portfolio over 90% of it was all shot in the same two locations… it is then about making the scene up into something more than a boring wall etc… in most cases I have a very tight budget – so creative use of every corner of a room is very important…
Thanks for the very interesting info, +Brent Burzycki! (Now I feel less of an outsider :))
+Dimitris Andreou Always open to questions…
