Hey can someone explain why the grappling hook had to be torn off for the aircraft to land safely? Is the hook that strong to support the rear of the plane, causing the front of the plane to nose into the ground when landing? In the video it was said if the pilots could not brake loose the hook they would have had to fly over water and punch out.
I'm looking just at the picture. Video would be no fun! He could be going down bur I don't see a contrails like it's pulling hard, so I am assuming level flight and up elevator. All wild guesses from just the picture. Also probably completely wrong. 😉

No pilot would go that low unless crashing, it would be deemed irresponsible and have his wings taken from him, if he wanted to go up his ass would be damaged, if you think it's a real stunt then you don't know about avionics . I do.

That's the f-111, real or fake the airplane is an all weather machine capable to fly at very low altitude and sky high, that's a 2.5 match speed as a medium range bomber full loaded, but as a fighter match 2.8 plus, to me that fotografy is real.
I saw that's plane flying at that's high and about 900 mph at Raymie Airforce Base in Aguadilla Puerto Rico in 1977 air show, but before that l saw the plane flying tree top at high speed over. Quan Tri on way to. North. Vietnam

No, that's belly landing was one sporadic situation but based as the perfect belly landing,for that reason,you see a lot of people showing that video in different websites but about all the f -111 is great plane

Real, this aircraft employed a first generation terrain following radar that's had three settings .. hard, level, soft, awesome platform.

Look at the shadow on the 2 sign, does it match the shawdow from the plane?
OK guys I just searched YouTube put in f111 crash at amberly RAAF base & you'll find a few things, it is real as I watched it live on TV at the time.
