+Brent Burzycki It's called Karma! This is what you get for photographing all those beautiful women all the time. Balance has to be maintained somehow.
+Photo Larry You can't compare the two, (I'm from MI) LA doesn't get much rain, so when it does all the oils on the road mix with the rain and it can be as bad as ice in the mid-west. Don't judge until you know. 🙂
I have lived in Chicago, Portland, and LA now for 10 years. I speak from experience, knowledge, truth. People here are clueless even without rain. As Sister Buffy would say "LA people do not focus outside the four walls of their vehicles because then it is not about driver/me". Everyone here has a mild to severe case of NPD!
+Lori Seebeck I live in Los Angeles. I moved here from Chicago 10 years ago. My attitude is irrelevant. I am speaking the truth. If you lived here, you might get it. Thus you seem to have issues with reality. You are hereby blocked and ignored. No time for insecure messes. Peace.
+Art Silva I use mass transit here for reasons you describe. I would have to pull out my mohawk if stressed from driving around LA all the time. #Practical
luckily I got to work at 4:30 am and leave by 2 pm, so the 405 is not too bad. But the rain does throw a lot of folk out here for a loop. But as mentioned above, the roads become extremely slippery after the first rain due to the oil build up on the road. A few weeks ago, one of my daughter's friends was killed because the car she was in slide out on a turn and went into a power pole.
On a side note, I couldn't make the meetup in LB, as I had to work. Would have like to go to that. Maybe another one.
Because it's raining…
Its because LA people have no clue how to drive in the rain. This photo is a good illustration of that point. 🙂
Well it IS raining!
Please in Chicago, we drive in the snow and ice without issues. LA folks are totally spoiled Wussies 🙂
What a Honda model you see on the left in the photo?
maybe because people were stopped to take photos 🙂
Having lived in both LA and Portland. LA drivers have no idea what to do when it rains. It always creates this kind of traffic.

+Matthew Quinly Yep I lived in PDX in 1995 and know what you mean. 100% correct buddy.
If it's the 405, it doesn't matter what day of the week, nor hardly what time of the day. Traffic.will.stop. Rain just makes it worse.
i live in southern california and i know how bad everyone drives in the rain. we are just all so spoiled when it comes to nice weather. 🙂
somehow this fits how I see Los Angeles – never having been there.
In 1975, L.A. had radio traffic reports 24×7. I knew it was not the place for me.

+Lori Seebeck – yep. First rain of the year is always bad. Even in NorCal there are a lot more accidents from the oil.
+Photo Larry "kiddo"? That explains a lot… It seems you have a bad attitude towards people in LA, it's good you live in Chicago. Enjoy your day .

Yeh hell only took an hour to drive what should take 40 minutes….

Its not like northern ca……we love the rain…..
Except today +Brent Burzycki. I swear it's getting colder outside as the day goes on…
Or unless you have horses and have to deal with them and the mud.
