How does +Robert Heron not have more followers than me… The guy knows his TV equipment and does a pile of testing.. He is probably why I am thinking of buying the XBR-55HX929 Sony HD TV….. All I ask is can he come over and help me move my older Sony XBR WEGA Tube Television…
Actually I might need all my followers here to help move that…..my god it must weigh 500lbs…… on the front side and 2lbs on the back so all it wants to do is all over on the person trying to hold it up….it is so heavy I am pretty sure it actually broke my entertainment center.
I will toss out that +patrick norton needs more followers also.. mainly because these two are not afraid to voice real opinions…. We like that…..and need more of it…
My son still has a SONY XBR in his bedroom that he won't let us upgrade. It's fine with me, because I don't even want to think of moving it. I think Sony makes their CRT from lead. Same was true with my old Sony Trinitron monitors.
Thanks for the norton reminder.
+Jerry Kiesewetter it is the heaviest most unwieldy thing I have ever moved…..
other than possibly a elephant on roller skates..on ice, on lombard street in san francisco…
We used to have three of them. Slowly we've upgraded though, but my son doesn't want a new TV. What kid doesn't want a new TV? Especially as much as he love killing people on MW3.
Loved the Sony Triniton sets.
Sooooo heavy.
Sooooo pretty.
Have a friend who had a 32 on top of a chest of drawers that held his LD and stereo (this was quite a while back).
Guests usually slept in a pullout in front of the tv.
I always worried it would topple and crush my legs while I slept. You're right, it's so front heavy it's insane.
[and yes, I meant the typo]
+Jerry Kiesewetter +Steven Marra It does have the best blacks I have seen on a TV…. worried I will not get that performance on a new LCD
+Brent Burzycki, if it is too heavy for your delicate frame I'll take it.
I should hope you are going to calibrate that monster too
+Jason Parker it might be for sale cheap…… I will calibrate it… I heard that the Cinema mode on it is very close to what good calibration can give… but I need to check into that…
+Brent Burzycki , let me guess I have to carry it out or will I qualify for "Amazon Prime / Free Shipping"?
+Jason Parker ha – no but I will be getting my new TV next day for 3.99
Nice shipping costs- I think the cost of shipping for my latest book was more.
+Jason Parker thank you Amazon Prime.. just like my BBQ 3.99 next day air shipping..
Last time I needed an old tv gone I put it on Craig's list and some guy came and got it. No more massive 300kg tv. He was happy. I was happy. All good.
<— does not own a tv ! :-O (some day I'll probably give in though). I got exhausted just reading the model #'s for Sony. I heard the new OIENFGALGRR-9834768KSJHFDKSHDF9499489HSNVNVNS will be great 😛
+Brent Burzycki I feel your pain. We have an old NetTV 34" monitor in one of the boys rooms. It weighs in at 156 lbs. Let me tell you, it is a beast to move around. We just got him a new LED TV for xmas. Not sure what we are going to do with the old one.
+S. Ray I suggest a balcony….
