I recently flew with the great +Jessica Ambats and Sean D. Tucker!
And yes, I made a movie about it. The full story about the day and how it all came about is here: http://goo.gl/835Py.
I shot, produced and narrated this puppy. 😀
Everyone wonders; What's aviation photography like? I've got 3 words for ya: Preparation, preparation, preparation! When you're on a photoshoot with Jessica, there are times you're 15-30 feet away from another plane, (sometimes multiple planes) in our case high above the water – 2 miles offshore. There is virtually NO room for error! The plan must be meticulously thought out and walked through. Everyone has to be sharp… and boy howdy, are they ever! And the results are just STUNNING!!!
I can hardly put into words what an amazing experience flying with Jessica and crew was! That's why I wanted to make a fun movie about it – so I could bring you along to experience something you might not be able to otherwise!
Mind you, I'm a photographer, not an official filmmaker – so keep that in mind, 'kay? I shot it on my NEX-7 – plus footage from the Contour camera that Jess installs in each plane, plus photographs from the day. All that said, I hope you enjoy this glimpse into a fantastically unique world of photography – and one MIGHTY talented photographer who soars above the rest!!
Wheeeeeee!! Thanks for sharing +Brent Burzycki!! And yeaaaaahhhh… prep can simply NEVER be overstated!
+Karen Hutton this movie basically shows every deficiency in all the shoots I do…. the lack of time to do everything you guys did…
+Brent Burzycki… I mostly followed along, in awe! And told everyone I was Jessica's assistant. hahaha… and yeah, time was definitely spent in the front end. Big time!
Did you get any cool shots?
I would have fallen out of the plane watching Sean Tucker… in one of my favorite planes…
I did get cool shots, yes! And yep, watching Sean was amazeballs… but then, so was watching Randy fly that Citation. The whole thing just blew my mind!
Planes are cool…. In general
True dat!
This rocks beyond words!!!
