I have seen a pile of discussions on Color Vs. B&W and how both are what you use them for and how you use them and why you should or should not like them..

Where do you like B&W vs. Color and do you always think when you see a color ot B&W image what it might look like in B&W or color or the way it was not originally prsented or do you take it as thats the only version you are going to get?

Fireworks should always be in color. The emotion of them is not the same in B&W.

For everything else, I think it depends on the image and what you want to convey.

In the case of fireworks, colors are the best option in my opinion. Anyway I think that some images "suggests" at the author the B&W version, but it's always a personal point of view

Me too, if it's fireworks I think it's all about colours, B&W rarely fits here.
Other cases B&W may be a better choice, street photography for example.

I take all my pics in color. I don't think I need to decide at the time that I am taking the pic. When I do the post processing that is when I decide if it works better in color or B&W.

But I have found that people always turn out good in B&W.

Lately I've really become fond of B&W photos. So I'm probably not the best to pick, but I would go B&W with this one (the smoke on the left is hidden in this one too). Great shot!

Normally I love the color, but I have to agree with +Chris Brooks that this one in BW is good, and I do like the fact that viewing it makes you 'think' in color.

+Cynthia Pyun interesting that the mind can substitute realities…

or I just have the weirdo mind 🙂 But +Chris Brooks is right about the smoke. You also look at those tree shadows differently and in BW gives this shot a more erie look to it. See, told you I was on a 'weird' bent…

+Cynthia Pyun I hadn't thought about our mind substituting the color. Make a lot of sense though. I guess that makes me a tad weird too. 🙂
