Love it! I'm going to the Grand Am race at Indy on July 27th. I learned some things about shooting racing at Detroit so hopefully I can put it to use that Friday. What I love is that its general admin so I can get there early and find a great spot to set-up.
Binoculars, scanners and cameras (including cases) are allowed inside the Speedway . Camera stands (tripods, monopods, etc.) are allowed on the grounds as long as they do not cause safety hazard nor obstruct the view of others. Such equipment is not to be used in the stands. Kudos to IMS for understanding amateur and semi pro photographers who don't have or can't get media credentials.

Do they regulate camera equipment?
Nope, I'll have to check regarding tri and monopods but when I did the the Red BullGP I saw guys in the stands with monopods and some 400mm lenses.
I just checked the website:

That's good to see… I was only lucky to get into an airshow with my stuff last year
Nice shot!
