New Personal Project – Circle of One – My way of sharing aspiring photographers that you might never have seen .

So I will be doing a quick interview with a photographer that I like or have seen and try to share that out to my followers. You might like some and might hate some but reading the answers to the questions below should give you an interesting incite to that photographer and possibly even your own photography.

Interview Below:

– What types of photography do you shoot?

I typically label myself as a "glamour and fine art photographer". Each person has their own perspective of how to define fine art but I feel that some of my images could serve in this manner. The glamour side includes everything from lingerie to implied nude to sexy club wear. My preferences, however, fall into the lingerie and implied category.

– Why did you become a photographer?

Each time I think of this question I always attribute my artistic side to my mother. As an artist she instilled in me an appreciation for art at a young age. I started into photography, however, because of my children. Capturing artistic photos of them provided me with the motivation to move forward with photography.

– Do you want to become a pro photographer where you make all your income with photography? Have you tried this and how difficult have you found this to be?

I have always had a dream to be a full time photographer. For a time I had a business where I offered to shoot everything from maternity to weddings to general portraits. This, however, was not sustainable because of my full time job working in technology and the fact that weddings and etc. are simply not my style. I had a family to support and bills to pay and photography just wasn’t enough. For now, I still have the dream of owning my own studio and having my work published. I always keep my options open for the future.

– I see you work with models, I also see that much of your work has provocative and Glamour nude style images. What are your biggest issues when shooting this type of work? Do you think you can make money with it?

The biggest issue with shooting this type of work is general acceptance. Working with models is actually surprisingly easy, if you have a great personality. I always generate conversation with the models to make them feel as comfortable as possible. For new models, removing their clothing in front of a photographer can be a nerve wracking experience. So I try to ease their minds by showing them the results on the back of the camera during the shoot so they get a feeling of being a part of the collaboration. As far as making money, most of my work is done for portfolio purposes for the models. My goal is to be published and perhaps develop a relationship with an agency or magazine where payment plays a larger role. For now, I shoot for me.

– What types of feedback have you had towards your work?

When it comes to my selected choice of photography there will always be mixed feedback. On the one side people see the fine art nudes as equivalent to softcore porn. On the other side, the images are works of art that display the feminine form in all its beauty. As long as it is not crude, I welcome all forms of feedback and respond based on my own opinions.

– Name 1 or 2 other photographers on G+ that you feel deserve to get interviewed… as in their work personally moves you but you do not think anyone might know about them..

That would probably be +Ricardo Williams . He and I have been virtual acquaintances from Twitter for a few years now. He has an interesting mix of images each with their own feeling. He’s been a huge supporter of my work.
