I tweeted earlier that if 500px were to add community functions (group discussion, photo sharing within that group/community, etc), I would consider moving the magazine's Flickr Group over to 500px. The response from 500px: "Stay Tuned".
Yes…I'd say the power-struggle is in full force. Allegedly, Flickr already lost about 70,000 users.
I can't deny the forums though…some groups are very active and great for inspiration. But the overall look of other sites it's so much cleaner with a nicer interface. Even jpgmag is cleaner than the new flickr design.
I'm only starting to get into google+. I like it though. I do wish the mobile app allowed easier page posing and management, our better sharing with other apps. But maybe that will improve in time

70k in pro users that now only feel less loved.. 🙂
Not sure I care either way.. Flickr has not been my place ever… 500px and here is much more productive than Flickr ever has been for me..

Take your page to a community here and problem solved..
Funny you mention that…I'm experimenting with that very thing. Just set it up a few hours ago: https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/101601290406710912928
Still have a lot to learn…about Google+ and communities, but also how to integrate into my site. All in due time.
This is a great place for photographers…
Filepicker.io kicks ass!
