+Danny Quizon They NEED TO find spare parts for their fighters, not only F-14, but F-5s and F-4s (that the latter carries a major role in the air force) to keep them operational. No, they are not cannibalising, and I am have to tell that they are in pretty good shape

Hey if it isn't my old buddy Vanity 1 from the VX4 Evaluators, did alot of maintenance on this old beast during the years, still one of my favorite aircrafts of alltimes. Was an Aviation Structural Mechanic in this squadron from 83-86.
Dunno how they did it, but I remember reading an article back when they "upgraded" their Tomcats with the new camouflage and ability to carry the Hawk SAM as an air to ground missile.
+Reo Cruz that was a project they carried out back in 1997 or so I think. Hawk SAM missiles were under the fuselage. I am not sure if the project is still operational

F14 was retired from Navy and replaced by F/A 18e whose replacement is suppose to be the F35 ugh!
