So let's hope this bad boy solves all those issues.. AC capable.. Hmm I think my Galaxy S4 will actually take advantage of that… I mean it says FAST right on the box… That has to be good…
I bought a Buffalo a few years back and will never try them again, just a horrible experience. I've pretty much always bought Linksys (first one was a WRT54G, AWESOME router, and loved being able to put 3rd party firmware on it) but won't rule out anything else.
+Brandon Larkin I'll admit I tried one and had nothing but problems. I can't say if it was the unit or the design though. I hear a lot of good things, but they're still third on my list.
+Olav Folland and +Brandon Larkin so its all setup.. and it is FAST – but time will tell – the only semi complaint I have heard on this is it can get a bit hot.. but as long as it does not catch fire I am not sure I really care…
Setup was super easy – allows for guest networks in 2.4 and 5ghz to separate them from the intranet…
So thats a plus… gui on the setup is a bit sluggish, but much cleaner than others I have used and there are a ton of options for cloud this storage and app that – and VPN access built in.. so it has all the bells and whistles…
+Shyam Madhavan Sarada welll… we will see… time to stream the crap out of things and blow up my comcast account and truly see how much heat this thing will put out.. π I believe in real world testing… before I reccomend anything.. especially with +Olav Folland networking yoda on my stream… π
Oh yeah, if it says FAST, you better plug it in right away π
I plugged in an old 10/100 switch today. It also said FAST on its label.
I'm sure the Model T was FAST in its day too π
Don't be bursting my bubble….
Well, it's an Asus, so that's good. And you're at least two years ahead of the curve with that AC capability.
My bad! May the FAST be with you, +Brent Burzycki! Do let me know if it stood up to your expectations, I'm looking to upgrade too.
Thus had some good specs and reviews.. We will soon see… I just cannot believe that my roku3 was basically not compatible with my dlink
+Brent Burzycki What was your old router that was causing so many issues with your Roku 3?
+Brandon Larkin Dlink DIR-655 used all over… Popular router… Known issues with roku3 and the dlink firmware.. Might or might not work…
Ahh, gotcha. I was gonna say, I've got a cheap Linksys E1200 and haven't had any issues.
I recently bought an ASUS router on recommendation. I'm giving it a week before I go back to Netgear/Linksys/Buffalo.

Hey, thanks for the update, +Brent Burzycki . Sounds like you have found the upgrade you were looking for.

Don't forget to take photos if you do manage to blow it up π
I would never miss an opportunity to take photos of a large house fire…
