What's amazing in itself is that it's what – 300m miles out, and can still phone home…

It's just cool…. The sad part knowing how many do not know it's cool and or do not care..

Think about how many people you know that weren't alive when it was launched – Now think about how many of those were born ten years after it was launched. And now how many have never watched the original Star Trek movie and don't know V'Ger – or at least can't make the correlation.

    So true

I don't know if the article mentioned it BTW (sorry I'm running in three directions), but they thought they were out a few years ago, but it turns out there's this weird 'gray' area between what we thought were the limits and what the limits actually are.

As in the limits of space or limits of the voyager.. Or limits of people's minds..

What we though were the limits of the solar system. Voyager pushed that back a few notches by discovering a blended space we couldn't see here on Earth. It was always assumed that there was just a drop-off

I am still pretty sure if we sail past the horizon we fall off the earth…

Lol even the Vikings figured that one out.

    Vikings are rad… and badasses…. wish I was a viking….

It's like trying to be a pirate unfortunately – the occupational hazard is that you're occupation's just not around. I mean, there's not much of a market for burning down churches and hitting people with axes unless you want to move to the Middle East, and they're just weird.

oh for the times of vikings.. things were so much simpler… I hate you – Axe to the head… die – light boat on fire be cremated… need food – raid a town.. grab a few wenches…. wait now I am mixing up pirates and vikings…

The early Vikings were kinda like that, except that they also had a tendency to settle in the towns they pillaged and marry into the local folk. Basically, they took over England that way, and were only ousted by the Normans, which were mostly Vikings that had settled there and taken over. Once the remaining Vikings figured out they were attacking kin, they got into trading, which considering they sailed as far as Greece (the Rus were a different matter) they had some serious lines on goods. Then the Christians went and fucked it all up.

Know what I do? Watch people that make comments in posts by people I already follow. The intelligent/thoughtful ones are the people I like. For the most part, it hasn't led me wrong.

Makes perfect sense. Will use that approach and wait with bated breath for the medieval monks forum 🙂 Thanks again.
