Anyone using www.fotomoto.com to sell images?
As I recall they used to be the backend for 500px.com

Fees seem high to me.. but I do not calim to be a pro at finding services to do printing…
That * on the Free account states that there are additional Paypal fees also
Society6.com doesn't charge any fees to host images (no per month costs) and only takes a portion of the sale and you can set the prices…
I almost used them because their WordPress plugin is pretty freaking phenomenal – everything works off your galleries on your site.
I didn't use them because they – even now – have no options for persona l delivery. I'm also not sure if you have any choice of print house.
That was all before the pricing structure changed, though.
With these changes you do have options for print house, though I have not investigated which, and you do now have the ability for self-fulfillment which was a big thing for me also as I prefer to deliver signed prints.
+Mark Whitney they're also priced the same as SmugMug's new Pro pricing, so everything should be looked at on a feature level.
Maybe I should revisit SmugMug as well +Olav Folland. I was unaware of pricing changes over there.
+Mark Whitney they announced hikes a few months ago – they hadn't in a couple of years and it was a bit of a shock. I'm going to be taking a look in December or so and see what the landscape looks like among my various options – vetted against the fact that I have something up and running of course 😛
I have almost just given up with selling… The WordPress plug in is why I would look at this…
I suffer from the same sometimes +Brent Burzycki. The people that say they want something "when they have the money" ('cause $20 is a lot) and the few folks that do buy keep me hanging on. And not for the money. All things considered, I've paid for my SmugMug account this year, with a few dollars extra – that went towards replace my camera body.
So, I would say, figure out what you want to do, and just go for it. I wish I could share some secret of marketing, but I haven't figured that out either – and I'm trying to figure it out from two different directions now.
Well break even is better than losing money…
So long as I come close, it doesn't matter that much – I know I'm not going to make a living out of my passion any time soon.
Now, if I could get more people in the US than in Australia to by prints, I might be able to buy a new lens every year 😉
I've had them set up as fulfillment for my site, but generally just use Mpix for individual orders. Now with their new structure, I'll be shopping around as well.
